It’s often said that society works better when communities work together. From food banks to flood relief, marathons to music festivals, Rotary is always making a difference in our communities.
The opportunity with Rotary are endless – here’s just a few of the ways the Rotary Club of Truro Evolution is helping in our community:
Truro Food Bank: We have an ongoing relationship with Truro's food bank in partnership with the Rotary Club of Truro Boscawen, collecting food from donation points, sorting and packing for distribution to the growing number of families in need.
Truro Memory Cafe: Some of our members help to run weekly sessions that help to enhance the wellbeing of those who are living with memory loss together with their loved ones and carers.
Youth Speaks: With the other local Rotary clubs and schools we provide young people the chance to showcase their public speaking abilities and perform, persuade and entertain building their skills and confidence as they move into the next phase of their futures.
Helping out: We’ve helped out at community clean up days at Boscawen Park, Coosebean and Daubuz Moors and Victoria Gardens.
We take part in local community events and help build community spirit through fun events and activities. We are that extra several pairs of hands, enthusiastic and productive.
What's more, we love every minute and have made friends for life! So if you would like to support your local community and want to join us then please get in touch with us today.
Some of the community activities we have supported include: Marie Curie collections, Children's Hospice South West Moonlight Memory Walk, Hearing Loss Cornwall The Great Flat Lode run, British Legion Poppy Appeal collections, Macmillan, Fal River Walk, City of Lights Truro, Penryn Half Marathon, Truro Half Marathon, Santa Run Truro, ROC 5k, Mayors Charity Day, Truro Day, Remembrance Day.
