Red Arrows
We collected on behalf of the RNLI at the Red Arrows event in Falmouth in August 2022, during Falmouth Week. Luckily it wasn't soggy as the previous year! |
On the 2nd July 2022, it was with great excitement that The Rotary Club of Truro Evolution, transitioned into a club in our own right, taking on the mantle and 100 year history of The Rotary Club of Truro.
Our way of life has changed over the years and we have evolved into a new ways of doing things. Many of the members of The Rotary Club of Truro have joined us following our official launch celebrations. However, the main objects remain the same. |
10th April, Exmoor Challenge Walk in aid of CHSW
This proved to be a very enjoyable day out with some of us are taking part in this fundraising walk on Exmoor on the 10th April 2022. We joined several other Rotarians, from across the district in what became a fun fundraiser - we are always up for a challenge! |
SUEZ Have you ever wondered what happens to your household rubbish? Members of Truro Rotary Evolution visited the state of the art trip to Suez depot at St Dennis. a fascinating and informative tour that explains the cycle from start to finish with minimal emissions and clean air emitted from the two giant stacks once the process is over. A useful event to support the work of our club's Green team.

We braved the pouring rain for our Winter Onesieland fundraiser for Shelterbox. We raised some money for a great cause and had fun as well. Chocolate cake and mulled wine helped! Rotary in (soggy)Action!

Our evolution club joined other Rotary Clubs to support an energetic fundraiser for Cornwall Mind. We enjoyed fabulous weather and two great days walking from Porthcothnan to Mawgan Porth and Bedruthan back to Porth, as part of the Big Rotary Coastal Path Challenge. On both occasions the delighted walkers enjoyed a fabulous cream tea at Rotarian, Caroline’s house at Porth and a swim afterwards. We have already raised over £250 but money is still coming in. Please feel free to support us through the fundraising link above.

Heli Belly!
Along with many others, we gave a donation to the recent "Heli Appeal" for Cornwall's Air Ambulance. Unless your eyesight is amazing, you will not find our name in the underbelly! Well done to their team for this amazing fundraising effort :) https://cornwallairambulancetrust.org/ |
![]() Members get nifty and 'nitty
While we continue to meet on zoom, we have found time to support local causes through our creative talents. Some of our members are knitting muffs for those living with dementia to have something to "twiddle", which helps them to remain calm and lest restless. A twiddle muff offers a wonderful means of tactile and visual stimulation. |

"Flushing away poverty, one day at a time".
At the beginning of March we had an interesting presentation on "Toilet Twinning" and officially launched our plan to twin 20 toilets in Truro over 2020 and become a toilet twinning town. |
We were therefore delighted to present certificates for our first three toilets to the Dean of Truro Cathedral during the last Sunday morning service before the Covid 19 lockdown, which has rather delayed our plans.
The certificates will be on display in the loos in the Chapter house. Do pop in and see them when you can. |
Truro Evolution gets a mention...Let us know if you have any ideas where we can lend a hand to clean up near you?

Downtown Abbey - Gala EventSunday 15th September 2019 -
In aid of Parkinson's UK Dressed appropriately, we attended a fabulous Charity Gala Reception with a screening of Downton Abbey, the full length film. Featuring the original principle cast from the acclaimed television series, we enjoyed the cinematic event of the year. The television series Downton Abbey followed the lives of the Crawley family and the servants who worked for them at the turn of the 20th century in an Edwardian English country home. A perfect way to fundraise for a great cause! |
Dragon Boat RacingAugust 18th 2019
